Melissa has worked as a receptionist at SEAVS since 2017. She has a B.A. degree in English with a concentration in journalism from Old Dominion University and then studied forensic anthropology at the Community College of Aurora and Mammal Osteology at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Before joining SEAVS, Melissa worked in the newspaper industry for 22 years where she served as a business writer and website producer. While in Colorado, Melissa served as a volunteer and membership coordinator for the Colorado House Rabbit Society where she realized her love for small mammals and exotics and moved to Northern Virginia to work as a veterinary assistant and receptionist. Melissa shares her home with three spirited rescue bunnies: Slippers, Sylvia, and Mr. Blue.
