Dr. Scott Hammer graduated from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017 and joined our team shortly after graduation for a veterinary internship in exotic animal medicine. He completed his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has been a resident of North Carolina his whole life.
Dr. Hammer developed an interest for exotic animal medicine while studying abroad in Ecuador and on the Galápagos Islands, and continued to gain experience in this field through veterinary externships and advanced courses during veterinary school. He enjoys the variety of exotic animal medicine, and has a particular passion for aquatic animals.
In his time away from the clinic, Dr. Hammer enjoys playing and watching sports, attending live music concerts, hiking, traveling, biking, and spending time with friends and family. He currently shares his house with two ferrets and a bearded dragon.
